“You Got It, You Got It Bad” when Usher drops 8 brand new songs and leaves you wanting for more! “A” by Atlanta’s own R&B superstar Usher, leaves audiences wanting more of something that was not even expected to DROP. Every song is fresh, relatable, and classic Usher. The only thing that stops this from being a classic is 4 more songs!!
The album is Produced by ATL superstar producer Zaytoven. The sound is pure magic. He is a high hat assassin and the melodic baselines make it hard not to feel like you’ve just been transported into the hottest club in Atlanta. The production is amazing, and there’s a reminder at the beginning of every track who’s responsible, “Zaytoven”. Usher needed this revival of sound, it feels closer to the usher we all feel in love with in the 90’s in spirit. But with a very modern Trappy sound thats complimented so well by Usher’s amazing vocals. But it’s not only Usher’s range and melodic ability that make this album great. As usual we get a dose of Usher’s personal connection to the music in songs like, “say what you want” and “you decide” , where he pours out his heart in the coolest way ever with blatant honesty and emotion for the woman he sings about. Fellas if you’ve been in the doghouse play “you decide” for your ladies.
At 40 years old it can be hard to stay current in modern music. But at least musically Usher has not lost a step. He joins the ranks of R&B superstars like R. Kelly and Tank who have put the younger generation on notice that real talent only gets finer with time. Usher has made us completely forget about the controversy in recent years and REMINDS ME of the old Usher who had teenage girls with posters on their walls and made all the guys want to learn to dance. If this is what controversy does for a music career. LET IT BURN Ush, let it burn… Lol
Although there are features by Future and Gunna, Usher and Zay didn’t need much help at all on this one. I’m really just hoping this is a teaser for a larger project. Like maybe a Confessions part 3 anyone? We want to know all the details and now with Zaytoven on board we know we’ll definitely enjoy the ride! Overall this album scores a 9 out 10.
